So the holiday season is finally over, you've exchanged your gifts, everyone is happy and all is good with the world....except your bank account! You start to think why the heck didn't I stick to my budget and wonder whether you magically turned into Santa Clause and now your back in your own body? Girl we have all been there!
No worries babe, we got you covered with our top 3 tips to save money for 2018!
1. Have a girls night in instead of going out.
Dining out at STK always sounds like a good idea. A message pops up from your group chat and 2 hours later you're on your 2nd appetizer and 3rd glass of wine, and you are thinking 'Can I even afford the main course right now?'.
Instead of dining out, have your girls come over to 'Netflix and Split the Bill' to a large box of pizza with a bottle of wine. You'll save money and your bank account will love you for it.
2. Invest in a glass water bottle!
Okay…so I know what you're already thinking, WTF? But hear me out for a second. Think about how many times you have bought a bottle of water or pop for lunch when you could have simply re-filled your glass bottle with your work's FREE supply of filtered water.
Invest in a cute glass water bottle (Winners and Homesense carry some really dope ones under $10) and try to keep it with you always! Not only will you receive compliments on your bottle but you will be less likely to purchase bottled water and your skin will also thank you as well.
3. Clean out your closet
We all have clothes sitting at the back of our closet that we swear we will wear for that future event and date that hasn't even been set yet! Go through your closet and find anything you have not worn in the last 12 months! Then, don’t just get rid of it, use it to your benefit.
If you haven't heard of Depop, it is an online shopping community where people can buy and sell items (used or new) and is a quick way to earn some extra cash. Alternatively you can donate your clothes for a tax deduction and with the money you earn use it to purchase clothes you will actually wear. Not only that, it’s often a psychological load off your mind to clean out your closets.
There are many other ways to save money such as Uber carpooling, setting a monthly budget, and bringing in lunch to work. Whatever the case try to utilize one of these tips and you will be well on your way to buying that Gucci Marmont Bag this summer!
Can you believe it? Winter is almost over babes! As we transition to Spring it can be difficult to figure out how to dress for the weather.
